The 16th China International Logistics Festival and the 9th Western China International Logistics Industry Expo, co-hosted by the Xi’an Municipal People’s Government and the China Transport Association, will take place in Xi’an from April 9th to 11th. These events will run alongside the 2019 China (Xi’an) Smart Transportation Expo. The conference theme is “New Silk Road, New Hub, New Logistics.”
Through joint events and strategic partnerships, the conference aims to advance the development of Xi’an as an international logistics hub. It will drive growth in Xi’an’s hub economy, portal economy, and mobile economy, contributing significantly to building a logistics network, platform, and channel that connects land, sea, and domestic markets.
The conference program includes over ten events such as forums, promotional meetings, and signing ceremonies. Key highlights are the opening ceremony and plenary session, the 2019 Logistics Global Forum featuring a City Summit and Enterprise Summit, the “Belt and Road” International Logistics Exchange and Cooperation Conference, the 10th China Logistics Science and Technology Conference, the 2nd Great Xi’an Transport Hub Construction and Urban Rail Transit Development Forum, the 2019 Internet Plus Intelligent Transport New Trends Conference, the Qingdao-Xi’an Integrated Development Promotion Conference focused on “Managing the Ocean Port City Linkage,” and the China Logistics Lecture Hall in Xi’an.
This year’s expo is the largest in its history, both in scale and number of exhibitors. It attracts over ten major central enterprises and industry leaders, including Qingdao Port, National Energy Group, China Merchants Group, COSCO Shipping, Yantai Port, Xi’an International Port Area, Xixian New Area Airport New City, Xi’an National Civil Space Base, Suning Logistics, Shaanxi Railway Logistics Group, Shaanxi Logistics Group, Yanchang Petroleum Logistics, Yueda Group, Youxin Group, China Eastern Airlines Logistics, Longhao Airlines, Changlong Airlines, CRRC, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, China Railway Construction, China Energy Engineering Corporation, China Communications Construction, Shanghai Construction Engineering Group, BYD, Tongfang Shares, Alstom, Shanghai Electric Thales, Shouqi Car Hailing, Shouqi Car Rental, Mobike, and international participants from Latvia, UTLC ERA National Exhibition Hall, RTSB GROUP, Belintertrans Germany, AREP Group of France, Belarusian Railway Company, Kurik Port of Kazakhstan, among others.
The exhibition and investment promotion activities have been completed, and preparations for major events like the Logistics Festival and the Expo’s opening ceremony are progressing smoothly. Leaders from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Transport, Shaanxi Province, Xi’an City, the China Association of Transport, government delegations from over 40 cities nationwide, and nearly a thousand well-known domestic and international enterprise executives, industry experts, and business representatives will attend the opening ceremony and related activities.
A key highlight of the conference will be the signing ceremonies. Participants include Qingdao Port Group, Xi’an International Port Area, Belarusian State Railway Corporation, Eurasian Railway Logistics Co., Ltd., Riga Free Port Authority of Latvia, China Railway United International Container Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Railway Logistics Group, Shanxi Zhongding Logistics Group, and others. The focus will be on cooperation and agreements related to sea-rail intermodal transportation and China-Europe freight trains.
Qingdao Port, the key port hub linking China’s northwest to the eastern sea, is the main sponsor of this year’s Western China International Logistics Industry Expo. Its involvement will strengthen cooperation and development between Qingdao Port, the Xi’an Municipal Government, Xi’an International Port Area, and local import-export businesses. This collaboration aims to advance the planning and construction of Qingdao Port and Xi’an Inland Port, clarify their functional roles, improve service facilities, and provide high-quality, efficient logistics services for import and export enterprises in the Shaanxi region. At the “Economic Strategy Ocean Port City Linkage” Qingdao-Xi’an Integrated Development Promotion Conference, Qingdao Port Group will introduce various preferential policies and services to Shaanxi’s industry enterprises.
