The Zicatela Square Box, designed by Alberto Kalach (BIM Learning), is a building project comprising a series of concrete floors connected by a single staircase. The columns extend into the pool below, supporting these floors. Situated along the coast of Oaxaca, the building is surrounded by a thoughtfully designed landscape.
This structure integrates seamlessly with its surroundings, adhering to the textures of nearby buildings and maintaining a quiet presence within the space.

This project draws inspiration from Le Corbusier’s Domino system concept, adapting it by incorporating tropical elements found in Mexico’s most common housing styles. To eliminate vertical barriers, it features two wooden doors that rotate on their axis and extend outward, guiding the line of sight towards the Pacific Ocean.
