Currently, there are over 70 types of BIM software available in the construction market, with about 20 to 30 commonly used ones. It’s impossible to cover all of them here, so today, I will briefly introduce a few widely used BIM software.

1. Autodesk Revit

  • Image files can exceed 200MB, causing slow graphic processing.
  • Limitations exist in parameter regularization, especially with angles.

2. Bentley Systems

Bentley Architecture is designed to meet architects’ needs, featuring an intuitive and flexible user interface. It supports 2D, 3D, or hybrid 2D/3D workflows with high-quality automated design assistance.

Disadvantages:

  • Limited user base.
  • Steep learning curve with limited guidance.
  • Lacks an online resource library for objects.

3. Nemetschek Graphisoft

Graphisoft products are known for powerful automatic generation features, such as sections, elevations, design files, and parameter calculations. 4. Tekla Structures

Tekla originated as a specialist steel structure software company with extensive experience in steel design, drawing, and manufacturing. It developed professional 3D solid modeling software for steel structures, recognized as the only 3D steel structure software successfully launched in Taiwan.
