In recent years, improvements in cultural awareness and living environment quality have significantly affected property owners’ evaluations of builders and construction firms. With growing competition in the construction industry, enhancing post-construction service quality and competitive advantage through better facility and environmental management has become a critical focus.
The BIM model stores extensive information about spaces, equipment, and usage types. Extracting and integrating this data supports owners and clients in managing spaces, maintaining equipment, and overseeing usage efficiently. Furthermore, it facilitates the integration of internal enterprise processes and the development of relevant management procedures.
7. Estimation of Labor and Material Costs
By creating BIM models tailored to each project phase, relevant information can be extracted for comprehensive cost calculations. The linkage between graphical data and numerical information in BIM models helps present material and cost relationships from multiple perspectives, mainly including:
- Visual Analysis Table: Displays the correlation between materials used on each floor or construction phase, referencing material content, building components, and construction sequence shown in the drawings.
- Cost Estimation: Uses computable data within the BIM model to calculate costs according to various project requirements.
