Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a collaborative process involving numerous participants across various stages of a building project. It includes preserving digital information related to design, visualization, teamwork, and conducting diverse simulation applications to support project decision-making. The components of BIM can be sourced from the market during project execution. The information stored within BIM can be utilized through integrated tools throughout the entire project lifecycle, serving as essential deliverables at each stage.
BIM represents the next-generation tool in the construction industry for producing final deliverables. It facilitates decision-making in architectural design and project data management. The effectiveness of BIM is measured by its ability to reduce costs, save time, and accelerate project workflows.
Building Information Modeling combines parameterized database digital modeling technology with 3D visualization and object-oriented data linking capabilities. The Building Information Model integrates parameters from architectural, structural, and electromechanical system components into a centralized model. This model acts as the core of a project database that supports the entire lifecycle of a building.
Currently, the BIM market is fragmented and incomplete, with processes adaptable to many types of construction projects. For example, industrial projects still have significant potential for BIM development, especially to meet advanced and sustainable trends. BIM offers greater benefits compared to other tools in this sector. Commercial projects benefit from BIM’s ability to support larger-scale planning and development. Meanwhile, medical projects represent an emerging market, offering new opportunities to develop BIM-related applications.
