Certificate Introduction
The BIM Level Certificate is a nationwide certification exam for BIM skills, organized by the Chinese Society of Graphic Design. Upon passing the exam at the respective level, candidates receive an official certificate issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China.
BIM skills are categorized into three levels: Level 1 – BIM Modeler; Level 2 – Senior BIM Modeler; and Level 3 – BIM Application Designer. Exams are held twice a year, typically in June and December. This certificate is currently the most authoritative credential in the BIM field within China. Many domestic project bidding documents explicitly require the National BIM Skill Level Certificate, using the number and level of certificates as a standard to assess the BIM capabilities of companies.
The BIM Architecture Network is responsible for organizing pre-exam training and the examination process, supporting professionals dedicated to BIM work in gaining national recognition.
Admission Requirements
Exam Eligibility
1. Educational Background: Candidates applying for Level 1 and Level 2 must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent. For Level 3, applicants should hold a college degree or higher in civil engineering or related fields, or the equivalent.
2. Application Criteria for Level 1: Candidates must meet at least one of the following conditions to apply for Level 1 certification: (1) Completion of the recommended training hours for Level 1; (2) At least one year of continuous experience in BIM modeling or related work.
Application Materials
1. Each candidate must complete the candidate registration form electronically, submitting two copies.
2. A digital photo sized between 20-60 KB (250 × 350 pixels) with a white background is required. The photo must be a clear, bareheaded, close-up headshot taken by a professional photo studio. It should be saved in JPG format and named with the candidate’s ID number. Please note that submitting an unqualified photo may delay certificate issuance.
3. Examination Fee: The exam fee is 350 yuan per person.
