Recently, I noticed that many people, myself included, frequently encounter various issues when importing or linking CAD drawings into Revit. After seeking advice in several groups, I have gathered some practical experience that I would like to share with everyone.
Step 1: Explode all blocks in the CAD drawing using the X (Explode) command or the Explode function provided by CAD add-ons.
Step 2: Use the CAD shortcut key PU to clean all layers.
Step 3: Rotate the 3D CAD drawing and check if there are any extra blocks or information on the drawing paper that need to be cleared.
Step 4: Copy the required CAD drawing, create a new file, and paste the drawing into this new file.
Step 5: Use the CAD shortcut Z, then press Enter, followed by E and Enter again.
Step 6: Explode the block once more using the CAD shortcut key X.
Step 7: Clean all layers again with the CAD shortcut key PU.
Step 8: Delete any drawing information that remains within the CAD layout.
Step 9: Use the CAD shortcut key W to write blocks. Select the base points, objects, save paths, and units as needed.
Step 10: Finally, link and import the drawing into Revit.
