Currently, there is a consensus on the value of BIM in highway investment projects:
1. During the construction phase, BIM enables visual management and simulation, leading to more efficient tracking and oversight.
2. It supports feasibility comparisons between construction plans for key or control projects.
3. Within investment project management systems, BIM adds value by allowing data import and export while supporting industry exchange standards.
4. Quality management becomes more visualized, though its mining value is limited; this can be extended to handheld devices.
5. Earthwork calculations have low value due to complex design models and require further discussion.
6. Changes in highway engineering through BIM have yet to bring significant value to clients, as most changes are concealed and unpredictable.
