Hytte Hellest ø is nestled on one of Norway’s most stunning beaches, perched at the edge of gently rolling grassy sand dunes. The design aims to seamlessly blend this vacation home into the surrounding landscape, making it feel like a natural extension of the dunes themselves. At the same time, it offers residents an intimate connection to nature, as if they were truly part of the dunes, while also providing breathtaking panoramic views of the open sea.

The cottage resembles a sand dune opening toward the sea, its rear embedded naturally into the landscape. The lush grassy terrain flows seamlessly onto the roof, creating a harmonious connection with nature. A continuous panoramic window, divided into three sections, offers residents a stunning 180-degree view of the open sea and the expansive beaches stretching on either side of the property.

This vacation home evokes a sense of spaciousness despite its modest size. Glass walls and windows divide the interior into distinct areas while maintaining a continuous sense of openness. The exposed wooden structure defines different living spaces, and the oak ceilings are designed with parametric wavy patterns, resembling flat noodles stretching between beams.

The design reflects the theme of waves, gently fading at the front and back of the house. The floor and rear wall, connected directly to the ground, are constructed from exposed concrete, intricately interwoven with the dominant wooden framework. All interior elements and furniture are custom-made from oak, meticulously crafted to complement this unique space.
