(1) Software Application Category: This involves the use of software for related tasks. Specifically, it includes software modeling and information extraction. Information extraction itself is divided into two types: direct acquisition (information embedded within the model) and indirect acquisition (obtaining information through simulation, analysis, and other operations performed by the software). Examples of software modeling include conceptual modeling, design modeling, detailed construction drawings, and design optimization. On the other hand, site analysis, energy analysis, quantity take-offs, and clash detection fall under information extraction.
(2) Information Application Category: This refers to the practical use of information obtained through software applications. Examples include template layout and construction plan optimization.
