Vanke Fuxian Lake Xi’an Club is situated by the scenic Fuxian Lake in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province. Boasting extensive views and exceptional natural surroundings, this project spans 4,740 square meters. It features a variety of functional spaces, including a swimming pool, yoga studio, gym, library, art gallery, and coffee shop.
Designed to grow organically with the natural environment, the project makes full use of the original landscape and the site’s significant elevation differences through a downward extension spatial technique. Maintaining minimal ecological impact, the roof design draws inspiration from the lake’s waves, gently draping over the hillside to harmonize with the distant waters of Fuxian Lake, creating a seamless integration with nature.
The spatial design features several modular, box-shaped volumes that conceal equipment while simultaneously defining boundaries and guiding circulation. Each area boasts diverse forms that integrate functions such as water therapy, fitness, entertainment, reading, and art exhibitions. This combination creates a cohesive, functional, and immersive spatial experience.
The boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces is blurred by fully opening the glass curtain walls, allowing warm breezes and natural sunlight from the lake to fill the interior. Multiple sunlit courtyards are strategically placed within the building to create an open, bright environment. Natural light and fresh air flow freely throughout, establishing a transparent, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere.
