Today, with the support of experts from BIM Architecture Training Network, I would like to introduce you to the 4D dynamic management system for engineering projects based on BIM.
1) 4D Construction Progress Management
Using the system’s WBS editor and process templates, you can quickly divide construction sections, create WBS structures, and develop schedules. The system establishes a bidirectional link between the WBS and Microsoft Project. Through Project or 4D models, construction progress can be queried, adjusted, and controlled, allowing planned and actual progress to be displayed as Gantt charts, network diagrams, or dynamic 3D graphics. This enables comprehensive 4D dynamic management of construction progress.
The system also supports real-time queries for any WBS node or 3D construction section and component, facilitates comparison and analysis of multiple construction plans, tracks and analyzes planned versus actual progress, and automatically generates various progress reports.
2) 4D Resource Dynamic Management
By leveraging resource templates that define engineering pricing lists or multiple quota sets, the system automatically calculates quantities for any WBS node or 3D construction section and component. It also tracks consumption of manpower, materials, machinery, and budget costs in relation to construction progress.
The platform performs statistical analysis and real-time queries on the completion status of engineering quantities, resource and cost plans, and actual resource consumption. It can also automatically generate reports detailing engineering quantities and resource usage, supporting effective 4D dynamic management of construction resources.
3) 4D Construction Quality and Safety Management
Construction and supervision teams can promptly input quality inspection and safety data into the system. Quality and safety information or inspection reports are linked with the 4D information model, enabling real-time queries on the construction safety and quality status of any WBS node or 3D construction section and component.
The system also automatically generates statistical analysis reports on engineering quality and safety, ensuring timely monitoring and control throughout the project lifecycle.
4) 4D Construction Site Management
The system enables the arrangement of 3D construction sites and automatically defines 4D attributes for construction facilities. By clicking on any facility entity, users can query construction attributes such as name, type, model, and planned installation time.
It also provides statistical information on site facilities, correlating site layout with construction progress to form a dynamic 4D on-site management system.
5) 4D Construction Process Simulation
This feature allows simulation of the entire project or selected WBS nodes within a 4D construction process. Simulations can be run over intervals of days, weeks, or months, and can proceed forward or backward in time.
The system simulates the full construction process based on planned or actual schedules to achieve 4D visualization. It also includes realistic model display functions such as 3D roaming, material textures, transparency, and animation.
