Using the BIM platform, various operational processes involved in constructing super high-rise buildings were simulated. Each stage was thoroughly analyzed, and data was integrated through the BIM platform. Leveraging its technical parameterization and visualization capabilities, a comprehensive model was developed for safety performance monitoring and quality inspection during construction. This enabled timely identification of safety hazards, followed by detailed analysis and research to devise a full set of safety measures. As a result, construction proceeded safely and orderly, significantly reducing the occurrence of building safety accidents.

1. Drawing Review Management
BIM technology was used to review architectural drawings before construction began. This process revealed potential safety issues early, improving both the design quality and the efficiency of the review team. By addressing problems in the design and aligning with complex construction conditions, safety solutions were formulated in advance. This proactive approach helps prevent safety incidents during construction and enhances overall project quality.
2. Simulation and Optimization of Special Implementation Plans
BIM technology facilitated the simulation, analysis, and optimization of safety solutions for specialized construction tasks. It clearly presented the logical sequence of each construction step and process, making it easier for all stakeholders to understand. This method is primarily used to compile safety plans for on-site workers and to provide visual data transparency, thereby improving construction safety and reliability.
3. Visual Disclosure Management Using 3D and 4D Technologies
The BIM process technology simulated and visually disclosed the construction workflow for various projects. It integrated key construction steps, the logical connections between them, and the complex operations involved in cross-disciplinary engineering tasks. Through process simulation and video presentations on a BIM-based visual learning platform, construction technicians, project managers, and specialists received clear, intuitive guidance. This approach enhances understanding, ensures effective task execution, and strengthens workers’ sense of safety.
4. Hazard Identification and Management
All production elements and components on the construction site were mapped within the BIM model of the main structure. Using BIM safety analysis software like Fuzor, potential hazards were identified, analyzed, and comprehensively evaluated based on the BIM model. This enabled rapid and accurate detection of risks on site, with relevant data collection and statistical analysis. Safety analysis reports were then generated and shared with all personnel.
5. Safety Planning and Management
BIM technology was employed to precisely locate all areas requiring external horizontal protection. Corresponding safety strategies and implementation plans were designed in advance—for instance, during tunnel construction, at construction safety passage entrances, and around super high-rise building sites. Based on the project’s key safety requirements, a detailed safety protection strategy was prepared, and a BIM safety protection model was created. This model reflects the protection status, optimizes safety measures, collects safety data, and supports resource planning, enabling refined and effective management of safety strategies.
6. On-site Safety Education
BIM simulation technology was used to train fire safety workers on evacuation procedures, escape routes, and emergency responses to potential fire incidents during construction. This BIM-based teaching method effectively disseminated safety management knowledge and operational protocols related to on-site construction processes, raising occupational safety awareness among professional workers. With the rapid development of modern construction in China and the introduction of BIM technology, advanced construction methods must be paired with improved management concepts applicable to real projects.
In summary, these are the key ways the BIM platform helps reduce building safety accidents. I hope this article proves useful to everyone!
