BIM technology utilizes three-dimensional digital models to represent various types of information throughout a building’s entire lifecycle. From initial planning and design to construction and operational management, this data can be accessed and updated at any stage. This enables seamless professional data sharing and effective collaboration using BIM technology. The core feature of BIM is its 3D information model, which offers benefits such as parameterization, coordination, visualization, and documentation. Design and construction teams collaborate on this platform, reducing errors and workload while boosting productivity.

Since its introduction, BIM has been hailed as a revolutionary technology within the construction sector. Its practical application aims to enhance construction efficiency, reduce project costs, and improve workflows across various construction phases. Considering the current BIM development status and challenges, along with insights from previous research and international experiences, the following recommendations are proposed:
1. Government Actions: First, create a transparent and open market environment to move beyond uncertainty and ensure healthy development. Second, promote simple, fair, and nationally appropriate standards and regulations. Third, increase efforts to advocate BIM technology by actively implementing it in public service projects to explore its full value. Additionally, provide rewards and funding support to enterprises, universities, or individuals who actively engage in BIM practice.
2. Enterprise Measures: Organizations should actively adopt BIM practices, expanding from isolated tasks to the entire project lifecycle—from planning and design to construction and maintenance. This should cover everything from complex project components to full project workflows and scale from small to large key projects. Companies are also encouraged to develop their own BIM standards and implement incentive programs to support BIM adoption.
