2. Bottom-Up Approach: From Project-Based Practice to Enterprise-Level Integration
Initially, BIM implementation focuses on meeting the demands of specific clients (Party A), with project operations centered around these needs. As experience accumulates through individual projects, the enterprise develops an overall BIM plan tailored to its unique growth requirements. This gradually expands to encompass enterprise-wide adoption.
For construction firms, BIM implementation is a complex, systematic initiative that benefits from combining both top-down and bottom-up strategies. In the early stages, it is advisable to engage a third-party professional service provider to assess the company and propose a comprehensive BIM implementation plan. This plan should cover fundamental policies, technical routes, key milestones, financial investment, and other critical components. Based on practical experience, enterprises should then develop and enforce BIM standards and guidelines, promoting their widespread use.
