In China, there are various types of cost estimation software that offer significant economic advantages to enterprises. Currently, cost software centered around the BIM concept includes Guanglian Da, Luban, and Tsinghua Siwei. While their cost estimation features have become quite advanced, there remains potential for further development in applying BIM technology to provide stronger software support for enterprise implementation.

The Luban series is the first domestically developed software built on the AutoCAD graphics platform. It fully integrates the characteristics of China’s engineering cost models, anticipating future developments in cost modeling for automated quantity calculations. Thanks to its 3D model visualization and calculation processes that mirror real project workflows, Luban is suitable for project budgeting and construction process management. By adding the time dimension, it can generate a BIM4D model. However, one limitation is that Luban requires more time to compile and summarize engineering quantities.
The Tsinghua Siwei series enables data transmission and sharing based on BIM, effectively addressing interoperability challenges between major domestic and international BIM modeling software. Although it consolidates civil engineering quantities and steel reinforcement quantities within a single platform, it still lacks a recognition function for steel reinforcement and structural components.
The Guanglian Da series offers a comprehensive BIM cost solution tailored to large and complex projects, covering the entire project lifecycle. Its flagship product, Guanglian Da Pricing Software GBQ4.0, serves as the core of its construction project cost management suite. It supports both list-based and quota-based pricing methods, striving for professional and detailed cost analysis.
