1. Energy Consumption Simulation Software
There are numerous energy simulation tools that can work with Revit files. Popular options include DesignBuilder, IES (VE), ECOTECT, GreenBuilding Studio, and PKPM. These programs typically import Revit data through gbXML file formats. In a study conducted by Shady Attia using an online questionnaire, architects and engineers ranked ten tools based on their preferences. Among architects, the top three were IES (VE) (85%), ECOTECT (82%), and DesignBuilder (72%). Engineers favored DesignBuilder (85%) and EnergyPlus (82%). Notably, DesignBuilder was the only software highly regarded by both groups, praised for its user-friendly interface, extensive data libraries, reliable energy simulation capabilities, and clear, visual outputs. For these reasons, DesignBuilder is selected here as the preferred energy simulation software.

2. Lighting Environment Analysis Software
Common lighting analysis tools include Ecotect, IES, and DIVA. Research shows that Ecotect excels in the conceptual design phase due to its intuitive graphical interface, improved data input methods, and unique interactive analysis features. Additionally, Ecotect provides accurate daylighting simulations and integrates well with Revit. Therefore, Ecotect is chosen as the lighting environment simulation software in this article.

3. Wind Environment Analysis Software
Popular wind simulation software includes PHOENICS, Fluent, and Sver. According to existing studies, Sver’s wind simulation tool, Vent2018, offers strong compatibility with Revit by allowing full and precise import of Revit models without requiring repeated modeling. Its simulation accuracy is also highly reliable. Consequently, Sver is selected as the wind environment simulation software here.

4. Sound Environment Analysis Software
Common tools for sound simulation include RAYNOISE, SoundPLAN, Cadna, and Sver. Following the selection criteria mentioned above, Sver SEDU2018 is chosen as the sound environment simulation software in this article.
