As BIM technology gains popularity in the construction industry, many companies are adopting it and forming dedicated BIM teams. Building an effective BIM management team starts with establishing a clear organizational structure, followed by defining individual responsibilities.
1. When setting up a project BIM management team, the first step is to clarify the responsibilities of each team member. The organizational structure is illustrated below:

2. Key Responsibilities of BIM Team Members
(1) BIM Project Manager: Develop the project BIM work plan and assemble the BIM team for the project. Define task divisions and work authority among team members. Establish BIM workflows and management systems across disciplines. Oversee the setup of BIM software and hardware for the project. Develop BIM standards and specifications. Manage work scheduling and coordinate between different specialties. Lead professionals across fields to build BIM models and analyze BIM applications.
(2) BIM Engineer: Responsible for creating BIM models related to specific engineering disciplines. Carry out BIM applications according to project requirements, including clash detection, virtual construction, construction planning, quantity takeoffs, and more. Requires proficiency in BIM software and practical construction experience.
(3) BIM Draftsman: Assist BIM Project Managers and Engineers in model creation. Capable of building detailed BIM models and independently completing modeling of building components. Possesses professional knowledge in civil and installation engineering as well as strong skills in interpreting technical drawings.
