The collision detection process in Navisworks Manage software involves the following steps:

First, export the various professional materials and information models created in Revit software directly to the .nwc file format. This process requires Navisworks 2016 software to be installed on your computer, as it matches the Revit 2016 version. Using a different version of Navisworks may prevent direct export from Revit.
After exporting the .nwc files from Revit, open Navisworks Manage and merge all the .nwc files by clicking the “Add” button. This will create a new integrated model. You can then review the components by using the selection tree on the right-hand side to ensure that nothing is missing.
Next, perform collision checks on the fully integrated model. Click on Clash Detective to open the testing panel. Initially, the test interface will appear grayed out. Click “Add a new test” to create a new test (e.g., Test 1). You can rename or modify the test by clicking on its name.
For example, in Selection A, choose “A – 6F – Water Supply and Drainage,” and in Selection B, select “A – 6F – HVAC.” Set the collision type to “Hard” with a tolerance of 0.00. Running this test revealed 36 collision points.
Finally, the collision results can be exported directly into text formats such as HTML or HTML with tables. Navisworks also allows users to customize and select the specific report details they want to include in the output.
