BIM 3D models encompass not only DIY construction but also various families, known as component families. These BIM families play a vital role in speeding up model construction and standardizing BIM models. Typically, BIM families are classified into regular component families and specific component families. Within BIM 3D models, conventional component families can be customized by adjusting existing parameters to suit the project’s needs. When a specific family library is available, it can be directly accessed and configured to meet the requirements of model construction. In cases where no existing components fit the model, a custom component family can be created to fulfill those needs.

These tools provide extensive simulation and visualization capabilities, helping to replicate real-world building performance.
