2. Design Teams Comprising Experienced Designers and BIM Software Technicians
This formation addresses the challenge of talent availability and is usually applied in research projects within architectural design institutions. These projects often have lower budgets and more flexible schedules, but they demand a deeper application and understanding of BIM compared to standard engineering projects. Organizations that prioritize research and innovation tend to adjust the workload of such teams according to actual needs and provide R&D bonuses to motivate team members. Typically, the research outcomes from these smaller teams surpass industry averages. If their technologies and methods achieve market impact, it can significantly benefit the company’s growth.
3. Integrated Teams Aligning with BIM Application Needs
This method differs from typical small teams by aiming to meet BIM workload demands as a proportion of the annual tasks assigned to design staff. While this approach may increase pressure on employees, it establishes a strong foundation for the company’s long-term development in BIM-related business. Each BIM team formation strategy has distinct advantages, and architectural firms generally select the model that best aligns with their specific requirements.
