During the BIM-based decoration design process, various deliverables are produced to serve different purposes, primarily including the following:
(1) BIM Models and File Formats
In decorative design applications using BIM, the primary file formats include:
*.rvtfiles created by Revit,*.3dmfiles generated by Rhino,*.nwdfiles integrated in Navisworks,*.dwgfiles produced by Autodesk AutoCAD,- and common video formats exported from 3Ds Max or Lumion, such as
*.mp4and*.rmv2.
(2) Visualization Deliverables
3D Views: These include perspectives, axonometric views, sections, and exploded views generated from BIM models. They help showcase specific decoration processes and detail-oriented practices.
Renderings: Photorealistic images created through BIM model rendering, designed to give clients a clear and intuitive experience of the proposed design.
Walkthrough Animations: Videos rendered from BIM models that offer an immersive experience of the decorated space, serving a similar purpose to renderings.
(3) Indoor Functional Analysis Reports
BIM models can be imported into specialized analysis software to evaluate natural and artificial lighting, acoustics, indoor ventilation, and more. These analyses generate detailed reports to inform design decisions.
(4) 2D Drawings
BIM software allows flexible generation of 2D views such as plans, elevations, and sections. These can be exported directly or imported into CAD software in *.dwg format for further refinement, ensuring compliance with decoration design standards.
