Among these innovations, BIM Technology has become a powerful driver in the evolution of smart buildings. But what exactly connects BIM and smart buildings?
First, smart buildings demand precise, systematic construction processes and reliable system maintenance. A major challenge for operators is to prevent the loss of critical information throughout maintenance activities. BIM’s key advantage lies in its ability to link data with visual models in real time, ensuring that essential information remains intact and easily accessible across the building’s entire lifecycle.
Second, BIM enhances the “smart” capabilities of buildings. By harnessing BIM, designers can optimize building designs and improve intelligent performance. It enables advanced analysis and validation of smart building functions early in the design phase, laying a strong foundation for ongoing maintenance.
