The character of this law firm can best be described as gentle. Some might wonder how a law firm could be characterized this way. However, once you understand the unspoken qualities, you’ll find that this seemingly unexpected word perfectly captures their essence.

Having observed various law firms and their differing atmospheres, the design team aimed to break free from the traditional cold and impersonal image often associated with legal offices. Their goal was to introduce a warm, human touch that softens the often intimidating presence of lawyers and their firms.

The flooring is covered with soft carpet, and the chairs are crafted from individual wooden blocks, creating a warm and natural feel. The space purposely avoids rigid conference tables and traditional partitions that could make clients feel exposed or uncomfortable. This environment is casual yet soundproof, designed to protect client privacy while helping to ease the tension typically associated with legal consultations. After all, no one approaches a lawyer easily, and even serious conversations should occur in a setting that encourages calm and reduces stress.

In separating the office and negotiation spaces, the design moves away from traditional solid partitions. Instead, metal curtains replace doors, balancing warmth and seriousness—qualities essential to a law firm. These curtains provide flexible privacy, symbolizing the unspoken dynamics of opening and closing conversations.

Above the negotiation area, a newly designed mezzanine overlooks both the negotiation and daily office spaces, preserving the original structure. Extensive use of transparent glass expands the visual field, creating openness and connectivity throughout the firm.

Although this space exists within a concrete structure, no one wants to feel boxed in. This design not only opens sight lines but also symbolizes limitless thinking and communication through its thoughtful zoning above and below.
