Every project reflects a unique lifestyle and design philosophy. Designer Liu Bin favors smooth, natural cuts and lines to convey his vision. The seamless, comfortable execution and perfect proportions align closely with the spatial concept of the Baiguan store in Zuben Ji. Good design embodies balance—such as harmonious lighting tones—and embraces the principle that less is more. This simplicity and understated luxury allow one to truly experience a sense of inner peace, like drifting clouds.

As you enter Ashikaga, one side reveals tranquil, expansive scenery, while the other showcases ethereal lighting design. These contrasting elements blend seamlessly, accompanying the full range of human emotions—joy, anger, sorrow, happiness, calm, excitement, and anxiety—as they quietly fade away. Light here is more than just spatial; it is also a dimension of time.

The interplay of penetrating light continues indoors, where artworks combine distinctive materials and modern techniques to express an abstract Zen style, creating a fresh sensory experience. For instance, the origami bird lamp at the checkout counter is crafted from foldable synthetic paper, brass, and steel, boasting a unique sculptural form and graceful agility.
The space’s wooden tones, crowned by a wavy dome, draw visitors closer in awe. It evokes the transparency of Zakynthos jellyfish—seemingly shallow but profoundly deep. This design not only creates a sense of visual permeability but also complements swaying grasses, stable yet delicate forms, and an ethereal, tranquil atmosphere. The result is a captivating harmony of Zen’s hardness and softness, pleasing and enchanting the eye.

The snow and wave stones beside the water feature become a focal point within the interior, enhancing the subtle play of light and shadow. Alongside snowflakes scattered across a large screen, these elements preserve a warm human touch within a refined rhythm, offering guests both familiarity and anticipation.

Light is the origin of all existence and visual perception. The art of light is the art of vision—it not only shapes our understanding of the world but also evokes deep psychological responses.

The laser-cut dandelion light sculpture balances warmth and coolness visually, while evoking a sense of floating freedom. This peaceful, natural feeling merges with the modern spatial atmosphere, creating a serene yet dynamic sanctuary within the bustling city.

A truly relaxing and pleasant space is not defined by grandeur, but by purity and essence. By employing simple colors, lighting lines, and minimalist spatial elements, impurities are stripped away to reveal a calming atmosphere. This simplicity extends to color, lighting, and raw materials, all chosen with meticulous attention to texture and craftsmanship. Though seemingly minimal, this approach demonstrates a thoughtful design philosophy centered on returning to the basics of life.
