The renowned Metropolitan Architecture Firm (OMA) has recently contributed a striking new landmark to the Amsterdam skyline. This building, composed of three staggered triangular volumes, is known as the RAI NHOW Hotel. Upon completion, it is set to become the largest hotel within the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg region.

Situated in Amsterdam’s burgeoning Zuidas business district, the RAI NHOW Hotel will serve as the primary accommodation for the RAI Exhibition Center. This 91-meter-tall structure features 650 guest rooms and includes a variety of amenities such as restaurants, bars, live TV studios, as well as work and entertainment spaces.

The concept behind the stacked tower draws inspiration from the “triangular advertising column on the European Square,” a once-prominent landmark now hidden beneath office buildings. The project aims to seamlessly integrate the RAI Exhibition Center with the surrounding cityscape by encouraging dense pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic within the area.

The building’s exterior features an aluminum facade punctuated with glass panels. The hotel lobby spans two levels, with retail spaces on one level and a lounge and bar on the other. The hotel comprises 24 floors, with 19 dedicated to guest rooms. The top floor, known as “On Air,” includes public and semi-public facilities such as a conference room, lounge, and a broadcasting studio used for daily TV program recordings.
