Freud once said that dreams are expressions of unfulfilled wishes. No matter how hard you strive for success, the ladder in your dream, where you have no choice, reflects your inner feelings: “I want to stop being a BIM engineer.”
But reason quickly responds, “How dare you?”
The fascination with stairs has long inspired imagination. As early as the 1950s, the renowned illusion artist M.C. Escher portrayed stairs that change appearance depending on perspective in works such as “Concave and Convex,” “Up and Down,” and “Relativity,” creating visual confusion.
When you set aside all distractions and immerse yourself in such a space, you can’t help but wonder:
Where does the staircase begin and where does it end?
What lies beyond the finish line? Is the finish line truly what I see?
Am I looking up or down at this moment?
Is the space perceived from upstairs the same as the space from downstairs?
If your eyes and logic can deceive you, is the anxiety you feel because life offers no alternatives, or is it that your heart’s perspective is trapped, unable to see other possibilities?
When we let go of relying solely on appearances and experience-based judgments, and focus on the present moment, we can truly experience the reality of this interdimensional world and appreciate the unique inspiration that space brings to the soul.
The deep blue surrounds you, and a calm, clear voice echoes in your mind. It reminds you not to forget the regrets of yesterday, nor the burdens awaiting you tomorrow. Waves of these thoughts wash over you continuously—as if you can never fully wake from a dream.
A cluster of red light ignites inspiration within this dream. Instead of being bound by an unchangeable past and an uncertain future, it is better to embrace the present—savor every grain of rice aroma, every moment of rest, every act of kindness—and feel the tenacity and vitality that life’s beginnings bring with every breath.
When life offers space for choice, it is no longer about being “forced by life” or feeling “helpless.” Wherever you go, it becomes freedom.
Bathed in warm, red-toned light and shadows, filled with dreams and hope, beautiful words well up from the depths of the soul, ripple across the eyes, and radiate a joyful glow.

Just like the blurred space behind the halo, slowing down and pausing is not about finding answers but about being aware of the present, adjusting your pace, and continuing forward gently and firmly.
The spiritual space created by designer Ryan Wang Heng strips away superficial armor and embellishments, allowing those within it to engage in a genuine conversation with themselves.
Just like standing on a staircase with nowhere to go, a voice suddenly speaks:
“I want to stop.”
“You can stop.”
And you hear yourself say it.
