This residential property, situated in the suburbs of Antwerp, is constructed primarily from weather-resistant steel sheets, designed specifically for BIM training purposes. These steel sheets visually unify the structure, creating a cohesive architectural expression. The space within is clearly defined, spacious, and designed for easy assembly and disassembly when needed.
Moreover, the weather-resistant steel sheets shimmer under the sunset, producing a captivating interplay of light and shadow that enhances and protects the residents’ living environment. This dynamic effect can be experienced throughout the residence.

▲ Details of the Building Facade
The design of this residence revolves around the innovative use of weather-resistant steel sheets. These steel elements not only define the building’s exterior but also shape the landscape and delineate interior spatial boundaries.

▲ Steel Sheet Divisions in the Outdoor Landscape
The detailed design considerations for the weather-resistant steel ensure its effective use across various functional areas. For instance, the swimming pool and garden partially overlap, creating privacy by blocking views from neighboring residences and drawing attention away from nearby ginkgo trees.
A unique characteristic of this material is its capacity to capture shadows when exposed to bright light. These effects are achieved through the use of perforated plates, which are carefully welded to withstand local climate conditions.
