Family Introduction
Bridge piers are structures located at both ends of a bridge. They support the bridge’s superstructure and connect it to the embankment. Their primary function is to transfer the load from the bridge’s upper structure to the foundation. Additionally, they resist the pressure from the backfill behind the abutment, stabilize the roadbed at the bridgehead, and ensure a smooth, reliable connection between the bridgehead line and the bridge’s roadway.
